Have you seen the “rail gun” in action?

February 29th, 2012 | By troy-wafx in Uncategorized | No Comments »

The Navy released this video of the rail gun that is still in the testing phase. What can it do? Some facts:

”it fires a 40-pound metal slug up to 5,600 miles per hour… slamming into its target with 32 times the force of a 1-ton car being thrust at 100 mph.”

What will the Somali sea pirates on their makeshift rafts think of this? Ohhhh, that’s right….they won’t see it coming!

An Oscar prank…or great movie marketing?

Urban legends have it that during the 80′s Van Halen demanded that all brown M&Ms be removed from there dressing room catering needs. Stories have been told of David Lee Roth ripping up dressing rooms if he saw any brown M&M’s….turns out both rumors are true.

Roth says the detail was placed in their “Chinese phone book sized contract rider” so promoters would also pay close attention to the safety and electrical needs of their “gigantor” set.

A video of David Lee telling the long story

Others strange concert rider request…

-Ted Nugent’s  rider called for no styrofoam cups and one box of man sized Kleenex.

-David Bowie’s loves cheap coffee and wanted a 12-cup Mr. Coffee machine.

-the Prince of darkness Ozzy Osbourne wanted a piece of  home life around him iand requested a family room  stocked with candy bars and ice cream.

-Metallica listed bacon be available at every meal and throughout the day.

-Rush demanded “absolutely no Heineken,” maybe some Molson would be better for the Canadians.

-Foo Fighters seem to have fun with their riders,  asking for a variety of ‘stinky cheeses” and “Gatorade in wacky colors.”

-Iggy Pop wanted a monitor engineer who is “not afraid of death.” How do you prove something like that?

Concert memories….Keith Richards Hampton guitar attack

February 14th, 2012 | By troy-wafx in Uncategorized | No Comments »

I bet the man who was nearly killed by Keith Richards guitar when he rushed on stage probably thought it was the night of his life. It was the Hampton Coliseum in 1981 as the Stones wrapped up their Tattoo You tour, Keith Richards was celebrating his birthday and some poor soul rushed the stage and watch what happens….

You can buy a bootleg of this night here.
